Cassandra's dream
In London, two loser brothers, called Ian and Terry, coming from a working-class family, buy a second-hand sailboat name Cassandra's Dream for their leisure. Ian is saving money to invest in two hotels in California. Meanwhile, Terry is an alcoholic gambler addicted to pills. When Terry loses a great amount in a card game, Ian lends his savings to pay part of the prize Terry owes to the loan.
When their wealthy uncle Howard arrives in London coming from China, the two brothers see the chance to borrow the money they need to quit the debt with the loan and to invest in the hotel again.
However, Howard asks them to get rid of his Martin Burns that is threatening him and his as well as his businesses.
Ian and Terry have to get a clear mind about this issue. They have to decide whether they should cross the line and help the family or face the lack of money to try to resolve their issues.
The film shows the dark side of human kind. The two brothers are good boys, nice guys, eager to please, fast to smile and as dedicated to each other as to the idea of family.
I believe this film actually shows the ups and downs of two brothers luck of the family support. Due to that, in the end they trust anyone and they think that what their uncle sais it's alright.
In the end, this film shows how week human kind is, and how cruel it's too. We can do the best and the worst things.
